General rules for all classes

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have compiled with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or officials.

The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirement. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.

THE MANAGEMENT OF CHECKERED FLAG SPEEDWAY

GENERAL RULES

1. Track Official's decisions will be final. We cannot make and will no attempt to make rules to fit everyone’s needs and desires, be willing to go by the rules outlined in the following pages.

2. We expect courteous conduct from ALL participates at all times. Each one of you has an image to uphold for the fans and sponsors. We will not tolerate profanity and/or any other unprofessional actions in front of race fans, officials, and management. Fighting will not be tolerated. ANYONE caught fighting will be suspended and/or fined from the day's events and possibly future events. ALL drivers are responsible for their crewmembers and their actions.

3. At any time your dress, actions and conduct are not in the best interest of the speedway, you may be asked to leave the grounds with suspension and/or fine.

4. No driver may get out of his/her car on the track or infield to argue or discuss the race with officials. If this rule is violated the driver may be disqualified and/or fined for the event and/or future events. ALL drivers are responsible for their crewmembers and their actions.

5. There will be NO alcoholic beverages or controlled substances before or during the race program in the pits. Anyone caught with either of these on their person or in their equipment may be suspended and/or fined. Checker Flag Speedway also reserves the right to submit ANYONE they see fit to a breathalyzer test at any time or in the parking lot of the race track.

6. The Speedway is private property. Through your admission ticket, you have been given the right to be on this property in conjunction with racing activities. However, the management of the speedway reserves the right to revoke and cancel this right at any time that it is felt that your presence or conduct is not in the best interest of the sport of auto racing, your fellow competitors, the fans or management of the speedway.

7.. Anyone who brings a 4 wheeler/etc. to the speedway MUST show proof of insurance on it and valid driver’s license before they will be allowed to operate it. Only the person operating the 4 wheeler/etc. is to be on it

8. As driver/owner, you are an independent contractor and assume all responsibility for all charges, premiums and taxes, if any; payable on funds you may receive for your participation at any racing events at the speedway. Arrangements of purse payments to anyone other than the driver must be made in writing PRIOR to race night.

9. . . . Track officials may at their own discretion, on any given night, choose to check any finishing car.

10. ALL drivers earning $600.00 or more will receive a 1099 form at the end of the year. ALL forms are to be made out to the drivers...

11. In case of protest, payoff may be held until the following week.

12. ALL cars are subject to inspection at ANY time.

13. Driver are held responsible for entire pit crew and their actions.

14. Any car or cars caught illegal receives no money. Points are lost on the race in which you are disqualified. If a driver/car owner refuses to a teardown, they forfeit all monies and points for those nights’ events. Flagrant cheating will draw a substantial fine.

15. Refusing to obey Track Officials while on the track will result in laps taken away, suspension and/or fine.

16. No driver can qualify 2 cars for any ONE division.

17. After car and driver have qualified/drawed if driver chooses another car that car and driver MUST start in the rear. No drivers are allowed to change cars DURING the race. Failing to notify officials of said change BEFORE race will result in no monies and/or points for that nights racing event.

18. No work can be done on racecars on the track. ALL work on racecars must be done in the pit area. No courtesy laps will be given for repaired work. One lap will be taken away if car repairs are made on the track.

19. Pit crews will be able to work on cars during red flag. Any car entering the pits under red or yellow flag conditions must restart in the rear.

20. Track management reserves the right to update, modify, add or delete rules at any time without prior notifications.

21. Any infraction of the rules may result in extra weight being added to the car in question to compensate for infraction.

22. Track Officials and Management may refuse to allow any driver to compete in any division at their sole discretion.

23. Amount to be fined will be decided by track management and person or persons fined will not be allowed on speedway grounds until said fines are settled.

24. Track Officials may inspect any car at any time before or after an event. Checkered Flag Speedway reserves the right to inspect/protest any car using the same methods as protest.

25. The Speedway reserves the right to alter and/or amend any rule in the interest of fair competition.

26. No one is allowed on the racing surface during the race under caution. In the event of a wreck ONLY emergency personnel and speedway officials are allowed on the track. Any crew member, family member, or spectators entering the track will be fined. All of this is in the interest of safety. While we realize the concerns involved during a wreck we provide the best care possible and will summon any family members, crewmembers, etc when necessary

27. No driver, car owner, mechanic or anyone else shall have any claims for damages, expenses, or otherwise against the track, its officials, or anyone associated with Checkered Flag Speedway. Checkered Flag Speedway will not be responsible for automobiles damaged in any area.

28. Injuries received AT the track MUST be reported to officials BEFORE leaving premises. Failure to do so may result in non-payment of insurance claims. All claims MUST first be submitted to YOUR insurance carrier.

29. The official scorer at the speedway shall be responsible for timing and scoring of all events.

30. The decision of the race officials on interpretation of rules, scoring, flagging and race procedures will be FINAL.

31. Entrance to restricted areas, such as pits, must be limited to legitimate "waiver" signed participates. NO children under the age of 16 permitted inside the pits unless a waiver and a release is signed by the parents and notarized.

32. EACH participant, including driver, crewmembers, officials, etc, MUST sign a waiver and release at every event.

33. ALL drivers and car numbers MUST be registered with the speedway.

34. Car numbers will be distributed on a first come and first server basis to car owners.

35. Checkered Flag Speedway reserves the right to require modification of the number as displayed by visibility such as duplicate numbers and/or hard to read numbers. Cars not meeting requirements may not be scored.

36. Car numbers MUST be a minimum of 18" high and 3" wide on each door and roof. Roof numbers MUST read from passenger side. Numbers MUST be legible.

37. Driver is responsible for having car in safe condition.

38. All cars MUST have an operating starter in regular divisions

39. Any part not complying with the rules will result in disqualification of car.

40. Track officials may at their own discretion, on any given night, choose to check any finishing car.

41. If a driver competes in more than 1 class in the course of a night, that driver must purchase an additional pit pass. (i.e. a late model driver brings a late model and an open wheel modified and races both cars, he/she will need two pit pass arm bands).

42. If you finish in the top 3 positions, go to the infield at the race's conclusion and stay with your car at all times. If you leave your car you will be disqualified. No crew members are allowed in the infield.

SAFETY RULES

1. All drivers MUST have full fire suit to include gloves and shoes.

2. All cars MUST have working fire extinguisher within reach of driver.

3. Helmets MUST meet ANSI Specifications.

4. Racing seats are mandatory, MUST be factory manufactured aluminum and acceptable to Track Officials. Positively NO HOMEMADE aluminum, plastic, or fiberglass seats allowed. Seat MUST be properly installed and seat back rest cannot be moved back further than the trailing edge of the door.

5. Five point racing harness required. MUST have manufacturers label and date and must be within Three years. Any belts older than the year 2003 or that has no label WILL NOT be allowed also must not be torn or worn thru, or frayed

6. Roll cage must be constructed of no less than 1½ seamless steel tubing with a minimum wall thickness of .090. The cage MUST be welded to the frame or floor plates (frameless cars) ¼” steel pates at least 10”x10” in at least six places.

7. No bars outside of car. All bars within reach of driver MUST be padded.

8. Fuel Cells must be enclosed in metal and mounted securely. MUST have four straps going under and over the fuel cell. All cars must have a fuel cell, and sealed from the drivers compartment.

9. All cars MUST have three to four windshield bars in front of driver, min of 3/8” rods

10. MUST have drive shaft loops. (Front) 1/4" X 2" minimum. Drive shaft MUST be painted white.

11. All added weight must be securely fastened and MUST be painted white, with drivers numbers painted on it. IF they come out you will be fined

12. Window net is required, securely mounted with release at TOP.

13. Battery MUST be enclosed in box and mounted securely, with quick disconnects reachable by driver/rescue people

14. All cars MUST have complete firewalls front and rear.

15. Blow proof bell housing or scatter shield is mandatory, except automatic transmission.

ALL CARS WILL BE INSPECTED BEFORE GOING ONTO TRACK. ANY CAR DEEMED UNSAFE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON TRACK. DECISIONS OF TRACK OFFICIALS WILL BE FINAL.

Protest Rules:
Drivers finishing in the top 3 are the only ones who may protest the winner

The driver who wishes to file a protest must do so within 10 minutes after the completion of the feature.He/she must notify the competition director ( Only the driver may file a protest)

The tracks Competition Director has the right to validate any and all protest and therefore refuse to allow any protest he may deem invalid.

During any protest the driver being protested may have only 1 crew member assist in the tear down. The driver who is protesting may watch the tear down at an area designated by the Competition Director. No other drivers, crew or family members are allowed in the protest area. Anyone violating this procedure will have his/her team disqualified and will receive no money for the nights event.

Any and all protest will proceed in a calm and professional manner. Drivers will be held responsible for there teams action as well as there on. Any inappropriate conduct from any team will result in all teams that are involved to be disqualified and the teams involved will receive no money or points for the nights events and any money put up for protest will be forfeited as well.

Protest fees:
Valve cover $50.00 with $25.00 to track
Top half Pull 1 head $250.00 with $100.00 to track
Whole engine Pull 1 head and oil pan $500.00 with $150.00 to track
Driver protesting may select which Valve cover or head he wishes to have pulled

If driver is found to be Illegal the following will occur:
1st offense Driver will lose any points and all money from that nights event
2nd offense Driver will lose all points obtained for the year, will lose any money for that nights event and will be fined $500.00 and will be unable to race until fine is paid.
